Our Aussie CPAC Global Explorers are back!
Our journey began with an air of excitement as our 6 young Aussies with a keen interest in politics and culture, embarked on what was to be a momentous trip to Washington, D.C., to attend the Conservative Political Action Conference.
Landing in the U.S., the shift in atmosphere was palpable. The anticipation of engaging with like-minded individuals and leaders in the conservative movement was exhilarating. Our spirits were high, and we were eager to dive into the heart of American political discourse.
The conference itself was a whirlwind of activities. Keynote speeches such as Nigel Farage and Javier Milei, panel discussions, and the opportunity to meet world leaders filled our days.
Networking was a significant aspect of our CPAC experience. Meeting fellow young conservatives from around the world, exchanging ideas and discussing challenges we face in our respective countries.
One of the highlights was exploring Washington, D.C. In our free time, we visited landmarks such as the Capitol, the White House, and the Lincoln Memorial.
Each site held stories of America's founding principles and struggles for freedom, providing a context to the discussions at CPAC.
Another highlight was visiting the Americans for Tax Reform with its founder Grover Norquist.
Grover has been very successful in getting Republicans to sign up to his 'No New Taxes' pledge which has had an incredible impact on the American Political System.
We have no doubt our CPAC Global Explorers returned home more knowledgeable, connected, and determined to contribute to the global conservative movement.
The journey (and jetlag) across the globe was a small price to pay for the invaluable lessons and friendships gained.
We look forward to hosting another group of young Australians for our Global Explorers 2025 Program.
